This major redesign substituted a concealed cocking-piece for the earlier exposed pattern; a grip safety was added; and a hold-open catch inside the trigger guard could lock the slide open after the last round in the magazine had been fired. Production of the 1907 model continued alongside the new “hammerles” gun, though the cocking grips at the rear of the slide changed from nine wide to 28 narrow groves.
