WEBLEY & SCOTT 1909 NEW MILITARY MODEL, 9MM MAGAZINE OR GRIPS

ORIGIN – ENGLAND
CALIBER – 9mm BROWNING LONG
WEIGHT – 32 OZ.
OVERALL LENGTH – 8″
LENGTH OF MAGAZINE – 4.38″
Made until 1930, this pistol is very similar in design to the more common .32 and .380 caliber Webley pistols with a blowback operation rather than locked breech. There are two different variations. One has the magazine release button mounted in the butt, while the other has it on the left side of the grip behind the trigger. This is a straight blowback pistol of military configuration. Its only unusual feature is the type of slide release used. After the last shot has been fired and the slide is locked open, a button on the top of the slide directly on line and in front of the rear sight must be pressed to return the slide to battery. Used by the South African and Egyptian police. Variations include no grip safety, round or no lanyard loop, and rounded receiver front.
